GEM MATTHEWS INTERNATIONAL is pleased to share the 20-year experience in the cremation field arranging on request the education for operators and for the technical managers of the cremation plants.

Gem Matthews International can propose three levels of training.

 

1st LEVEL   BASIC TRAINING FOR OPERATORS IN CHARGE OF PLANT MANAGEMENT.

•  Minimum participant number: 4 persons
•  Duration: 16 hours of THEORETICAL education
•  The training course can be arranged by Gem factory in Udine (Italy) or by the Customer

 

2nd LEVEL   ADVANCED TRAINING FOR OPERATORS IN CHARGE OF PLANT MANAGEMENT.

•  Minimum participant number: 4 persons
•  Duration: 16 hours of THEORETICAL education + 8 hours of practical education
•  The training course can be arranged by the Customer

 

3rd LEVEL  ADVANCED TRAINING FOR TECHNICAL MANAGER OF THE CREMATION PLANT.

•  Minimum participant number: 4 persons
•  Duration: 16 hours of THEORETICAL education
•  The training course can be arranged by Gem factory in Udine (Italy) or by the Customer

BASIC TRAINING FOR OPERATORS IN CHARGE OF PLANT MANAGEMENT

Requirement to attend the education:      

Professional Degree.

Duration:  16 hours (THEORETICAL)

About the job: the operator of the cremation plant has to manage the cremation process, in compliance with safety rules, occupational hygiene and all the rules in force concerning the Cremation.

Skill:  to be able to manage any cremation process.
 

During the theoretical course the following topics were addressed:

•  Overview of the cremation plant;
•  Cremator system components: features, operation and logic;
•  Facility management and process control;
•  Ash treatment;
•  Respect for the environment and safety of operators, use of the PPE (Personal Protective Equipment);
•  Specific risks related to the creation process;
•  Typical abnormal situations and solutions;
•  Ordinary and extraordinary maintenance, anomalies, interventions;
•  Waste from the operation of crematory systems: classification, storage, disposal;
•  Overview of the pages on HMI control panel (for Gem installations);
•  Explanation of the main process parameters, manual and automatic management of the cremation;
•  Cremation programs: how to choose them and differences (for Gem installations);
•  Automatic startup program for preheating (for Gem installations);
•  Trend section (for Gem installations);
•  Anagraphic section (for Gem installations);
•  Supervisor (for Gem installations);
•  Checklist of controls to be done before starting the plant;
•  Alarm management.

 At the and of the sixteen hours of education all the attendees will be asked to take the assessment test in order to verify the learning level. After that Gem will release the Certificate of attendance

During the practical course the following topics were addressed:

• Practical training for those maintenance/cleaning operations that can be carried out by the operative staff.
• Ash cooling control;
• Electric board, its push buttons and lamps.
• Controls of local control panel of insertion machine (if any), use of the insertion machine under normal conditions and in emergency condition;
• Possible faults on insertion phase and what to do;
• Raking phase, how/when to collect the ashes and way of work of the ash cooling section of the cremator;
• How to use the reagent dosing unit;
• How to use the ash processor;
• Removing the filter bins when performing cremations;
• Procedure in case of hydraulic safety intervention;
• Restoring the installation after blackout;
• Cremation with filtration in line and in bypass through direct stack/ejector.

During the practical training there will be some cremations and the participants will be able to test some common troubles and alarms and simulate some emergencies that can happen during the cremation process.
At the and of the sixteen hours of theoretical education and the eight hours of practical education all the attendees will be asked to take the assessment test in order to verify the learning level. After that Gem will release the Certificate of attendance

ADVANCED TRAINING FOR TECHNICAL MANAGER OF THE CREMATION PLANT

Requirement to attend the education:      

High school Degree.

Duration:  16 hours (THEORETICAL)

About the job: the technical manager of the cremation plant has the responsability of the administration of the installation, in compliance with the rules in force, in particular about hygiene and safety.

Skills:  To manage the cremation activity taking care of any administrative, technical and bureaucratic matters of the whole installation.

The training course will focus on:

• Rules in force on the cremation field;
• Comparison on all the European rules about the emissions in Atmosphere;
• Management of the cremation plant;
• Rules in force about safety and hygiene;
• Respect of the environment and related activities;
• Professional ethics;
• Supervision of the cremation process with the purpose to detect any troubles ahead of time respecting any sfety and environmental rules.

At the and of the sixteen hours of theoretical education all the attendees will be asked to take the assessment test in order to verify the learning level. After that Gem will release the Certificate of attendance.
